Best Us Source For Small Orders Of Supplies?

Hi,

I'm trying to repair a Sheaffer Touchdown TM Crest Deluxe. I've worked on a "fat" Touchdown before and have some leftover items from that repair (extra O rings and the 17 1/2 x 1 7/8 necked sacs), but those are going to be the wrong sizes for the thin model that I'm working on now. Assuming I'm able to eventually remove the section (which is on there quite tightly--and which some previous owner/repairer dinged up while trying to remove), I think all I'll need is one O-ring and one #15 sac.

I don't do many repairs, so I'd like to avoid ordering more supplies than I need; I want just one of each, not a pack of 5 sacs and 10 o-rings, for example. I need to keep costs (items and shipping) very minimal and not buy extras that will end up sitting around, going to waste.

So my question is: Is there a good US source where I can get one of each? Or a source that sells Touchdown repair "kits" or "combos" with these items? (Based on weight and size, shipping costs really should be minimal, ideally.) If someone knows of a good source abroad, I'm OK with waiting for an order to arrive from overseas; sometimes the pricing works out better that way.

[The best US-based option I've found so far is a set that includes enough to repair 4 pens; with shipping it comes to $18, which seems very high for what I need.]

(Alternately, if someone is in a similar position and has too any TM parts and needs some of my "fat" Touchdown supplies, I'd be happy to do an exchange.)

Thank you.

I have no connection with them other than being a satisfied customer, but get in touch with Sam and Frank at Pendemonium. You don't have to order by the bushel basket, they are good folks to deal with.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
