Pelikan M805 Stresemann. Bought it today with an "F" nib and the Edelstein ink, was a gift. Writes amazingly, feels excellent, it is surely my "holy grail" for now !

I have a slightly swirlly gray stripped Geha 760.... that will do for me in the Stressmann look.

Love the gray Stresseman pens. To bad even the M40x is outside my budget for pens. Maybe someday.

I thought this was about this year's yet to be released M100x Stresemann.

Anyway, congrats on the new pen. :)

Grats on the new Stresseman! It's a severely serious pen. I have the M405 and I love it.

+ 1 to what chromantic said.

Last year, because of circumstances (which will never happen again -- although after having to just pre-treat a load of mildew-y dishtowels before throwing them into a bleach load in the washer I may need combat pay) I was able to get an M405 Stresemann. I'd been lusting for that color since the M800 size pens were released -- that was too big and heavy a pen for me. The M400 size pens, OTOH, are PERFECT, and I'd been hoping that Pelikan would release that color in the smaller size.

Now to convince them that the pink one needs to be in a smaller size than the M600 -- and not obscenely expensive....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

The Stresseman is a great pen. I have both available sizes and love the look. It's a nice enough finish, that Pelikan is sticking with it as Mew suggested for those that like their pens big. Enjoy it!

I also have got Stresemann M405 and it was darker than in pictures. I thought it would be more on a grey side than black side.

Mew and sarge, thanks! I have the 405 inked right now and took it to a meeting Tuesday evening... was just thinking "I wish they'd release this in 1005". So, I'll join Lam1 and his bunny :bunny01:

  • 2 weeks later...

This pen has been on my wish list for a long time, but now they brought a turquoise M600. So the Stresemann will have to wait a bit longer. ^^"

I hope a M1005 Stresemann (if indeed it materialises) will be a permanent addition to the range. People are quite firm in their opinions about silver v gold furniture, and it seems incredible that Pelikan doesn't provide 05 models as standard in some sizes of pen.

It would also be great if it is available in more than a medium.

Even if there was a M1005 stresemann, I'd still buy the M805, because I find it's size and weight ideal for me. The M1000 is too big for everyday use and I like using my pens everyday.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
