There is a Waterman Hundred Year pen for sale on ebay right now. The seller says that the pen has a lot of micro-cracks. They fixed that with an internal coat of z-poxy. With that work? I have been toying with the idea of fixing a crack on one of my 100 year pens and am in the process of experimenting with MEK, Acetone, and ca glue on some junk celluloid parts. But Z-Poxy??

I think I would not purchase a pen with the known defects.

I have read about it on model plane and boat sites, where you can find some commentary. It might work. The documentation says "some plastics" or "most plastics" which to me is unlikely to include Celluloid. If you decide to test it, let us know. :)

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
