Karas Kustoms K-Pen?!

I've been helped tremendously by the FPN community and other online FP communities, and since this was the first I joined I thought it was time to PIF a little something. I'd always intended to, but never got round to it. Hope these things will be useful to someone. I'm going to get a couple of threads going.

This one is for a boxed Karas Kustoms K-Pen. At least I think that's its name...! This is a bit of a cheat as a PIF as I got it free from Karas Kustoms in their giveaway in January. Apologies! Anyway, it's a gorgeous little pen and a lovely smooth writer, but it's too small for me and I like to post (and this one doesn't). It's an M nib with a slight hint of stubbishness. It comes in its original (plain brown card) box with a converter and a cartridge with a spring set-up.

The pen is now discontinued, was a flagship for Karas, and I understand it came out within about ten years ago for round about $100... may be wrong, though.

This one will finish on the 18th, I'll resolve it with a random resolver site thingy (so please state your intention to be entered on this thread and only comment once - if you comment and don't want to be included in the entry, I'll find some way of excluding you or just randomise it again) and I should be able to ship it out on the 19th. If the winner wants to be nice they could PayPal me shipping (around $6 worldwide) because I'm terminally skint... but it's not a requirement if you are too! I really won't hold it against anyone!

Here's a quick snapshot.

I've wondered about their pens. I like its understated looks - I'm in.

Looks like the Karas Barstock Fountain K, which was discontinued recently? I think the original Fountain K is still available, but this more "rustic" version wasn't selling as they'd hoped.

Looks great to me, though - so please count me in, and thanks for the generous offer!

That's the one! Although their reason for the giveaway wasn't so much that it wasn't selling well, but that it had sold well, and was now being superseded by whatever their latest flagship is in that price range, which they wanted to focus on... but whatever, it may be splitting hairs!

Anyway, I love the pen, its build, its look, and its nib, but it's too small for me and I have... enough... pens...?!

Please count me in? I've always wanted to try a Kara's Kustom pen, and I love tiny pens! I have small hands, so they work well! I usually use fine nips, but I was just gifted a Lamy Safari with a medium nib and I'm really liking how my writing looks with the bigger nib. Best of luck to all y'all!

I am the tarot reading, bookworm, whiskey drinking, witchcraft practicing, old fashioned writing, aunt Beasty in my family and I love it. Tarot readings for sale or trade, especially ink as I've lost all of my pen stuff from a bad burglary last year. And I need penpals! Anyone interested, please PM me!

This is very generous! I would like to be entered into the draw please, as I only own one pen. Thank you!

I would love to try the pen, or, more specifically, for this Pen, my wife would love to try the Pen.

Won't tell her it is coming if I am chosen, she is always excited when a package arrives from Japan...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
