Gel Pens?(& Help?)

Hey all, I use Pilot's juice pen as well as Sarasa's gel pen(because less smearing) but I use quality paper when taking my notes(Clairefontaine, sometimes Rhodia, depending on what I have on hand).

Anyone else have any brands they like that don't smear? I need suggestions, please!

Regards,

The Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto Multi Pens I just wrote about have never smeared on me.

Second to Pentel Energel, especially blue refills are really lovely, a vibrant blue and waterproof.

Seeking a Parker Duofold Centennial cap top medallion/cover/decal.
My Mosaic Black Centennial MK2 lost it (used to have silver color decal).

Preferably MK2. MK3 or MK1 is also OK as long as it fits.
Preferably EU.

The Ink Joy Gels are really nice to write with. My granddaughter is a lefty, so I got her some and she LOVES them.

The uni-ball micro isn't a gel, just a rollerball, but was my mainstay for many years. Very smooth writer unless it's near death.

I have a broad blue Monteverde Gel refill in my Montblanc 164. It doesn't smear on the paper.

The PaperMate Inkjoy Gel is a fast drier. Many colours available too.

I can attest that it's a really fast drier. It's skipping a bit at times for me, though; does yours have the same issue, or does it write fully all the time?

I have the 0.7mm and have never seen the 0.5mm (would be my choice).

No skips at all, very fast drying, solid colour lines.

One other point about these, is that where you unscrew the barrel to change the refill, is right down at the tip, NOT in the middle of the pen, and this is the weak point of many popular pens.

These are strong well made pens, and will take other refills if you choose to do that.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
