Warm greetings from Québec, Canada!

I was introduced to fountain pens at a very young age but stopped using them after elementary school. I still remember those days I was frustrated by ink leaks, broken nibs, or running out of ink in the middle of classes…

After decades fountain pens got back to my life when I bought a Parker sonnet fountain pen for my friend’s birthday in November last year. The reason for choosing a fountain pen as a gift was quite simply to me at that time. It’s good looking and a right size being sent internationally. However, I’ve eventually developed a strong interest in fountain pens since. I found FPN is a great place to learn fountain pen basics and share the enthusiasm for beautiful writing instruments.

Hello and welcome to FPN, from Cape Town, South Africa.

To sit at one's table on a sunny morning, with four clear hours of uninterruptible security, plenty of nice white paper, and a [fountain] pen - that is true happiness!

Welcome !

What do you use for daily writing ?

I'm just beginning my fountain pen journey. I currently have 3 pens Lamy safari petrol, Lamy studio imperial blue, and Kaweco skyline sport. I love my Lamy pens so much that I'm thinking of the Lamy 2000 to be my next upgrade. On the other hand, the Kaweco one has been such a headache since day one. It's very dry and skipping a lot even with the original Kaweco cartridge. I soaked the nib and feed in lukewarm soapy water and brush with toothbrush. I also change the ink to Parker washable quink blue. Nothing worked out as I expected and I'm slowly giving up on Kaweco.
