I was wondering if anyone knew of a source for modern 149 nib units? And my modern, I am referring to the newest iteration that doesn't need the pink sealant. I'm looking for a B or BB+ nib.

It's very unlikely, and you would probably search for quite a long time. Montblanc don't sell just retail nibs. Can't you send the pen to Montblanc for one to be fitted?

Only place I know of is the MB boutiques. Unfortunately, they come wrapped in a new 149 and cost a fortune.

Seriously, though, I don't think they sell them separately - YET. However, it seems logical that if the nib (unit) is so easily transferable. maybe they will follow the Pelikan route and offer them for sale as separate items? (Wishful thinking.)

Do they fit into the older 149's?

Good luck.

I found one on ebay.  It worked out ok, wasn't a fake. YMMV.  Cost about $110

Limitlesspens over in the classifieds section sometimes sells 146 and 149 parts. Might be worth asking him.
