Good day Mates!
I'm Andy, a newbie who's discovering his love for fountain pens. I actually used a desk fountain pen, most probably a vintage montblanc when I was about 10 years young. My Mom was working in a government bank and I think it was a gift from the company that she never used and just brought it back at home which I luckily played around with. I vaguely remember how I would ink it, but I do remember dipping it in an ink bottle and had to be careful because it would stain my fingers. I fell in love with writing at that very young age. Been lurking around the forum and reading as much as I can, and because of the great advice that it would be better to purchase a pre-loved Montblanc than trying to buy it full retail. I am on the hunt for for Montblanc 146, and hopefully I'd get one for a fairly decent price.
At present I bought a pilot penmanship EF and a Lamy safari medium nib, trying to test out the different nibs and get a feel of re-using a fountain pen. Will start to purchase some quality fountain pen friendly paper too to help me on my journey, and I guess I'll acquiring some of my friends home addresses so I can send them a thoughtful letter lovingly written on a fountain pen. Email may be the future, but handwritten letters will always remind us of all things good about the past.
Here's to a long and blissful journey ahead with fountain pens!
