Hello all. I'm fairly new to fountain pens (haven't owned/used one since the early 1970's). So far, I'm enjoying both the hobby side as well as the writing experience. Maybe it's sentimental, but I enjoy writing more than typing - using a fountain pen seems to take that to another level. I'm looking forward to learning more and being part of FPN.

Hi dannyboy - I'm in Jonesborough (actually closer to Gray). I moved here from WV in 1997. Love this area.

 

I see that DWR is East TN as well. I suspect I'm located close to both of you.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
