Greetings from Pittsburgh, PA!   :W2FPN:

Even if I could afford those pens (which I can't) I wouldn't want any of them.  The Caran d'Ache pen was attractive, but I suspect it would be too large and heavy for me.  The rest?  Tasteless bling, IMO.

I'll stick to pens I can use....

There are a LOT of attractive pens (both vintage and modern) which cost WAY less than those.  My personal preferences for writing instruments are vintage (mostly Parkers -- and I'll put any of my Parker 51s and Vacumatics up against those geegaws in the video any day of the week and then some, because they were designed to be superb and functional writing instruments -- not expensive toys to show off how rich you are) but I love my modern M400 size Pelikans as well.

So, what pen(s)/ink(s) are you using at the moment?  I generally suggest that new people click on the "View New Content" link when they log in, in order to get a good overview of a range of topics (you can adjust on the main page the amount you get -- I generally like "Since My Last Visit" but will change it as circumstances require).  And to check out the pinned Index to the Ink Reviews Forum.

But of course you should also know that we are all shameless enablers, and will help you spend your discretionary funds on pens, inks, paper, repair tools, pen cases, sealing wax, desk accessories, ephemera, etc.   Six years ago I had never heard of Parker 51s -- now I have nine or ten of them....

My husband has taken to just rolling his eyes.  And telling people I *used* to collect pens but now collect ink....   But of course now needs better paper for the used Pilot Vanishing Point I found in an antiques and collectibles shop a while back, but was a bit too heavy for me.  *My* latest toy is a smaller-sized Pilot Decimo, where I swapped out the EF nib assembly I ordered it with for the F nib on the VP, and gave the VP to him; he didn't like the F nib the VP came with (not fine enough a line for him) but I don't mind it.  And the advantage of giving him the VP was that he can't lose the cap the way he does with ballpoints.....  ;)

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Correct! You buy pens you love writing with, share your memories with.... now it is up to you to find this pen

It can be even <$10 ...or it can be in $Millions.... the choice is yours!

Hello and welcome to FPN, from Cape Town, South Africa.

To sit at one's table on a sunny morning, with four clear hours of uninterruptible security, plenty of nice white paper, and a [fountain] pen - that is true happiness!

Welcome !

Thank your for the slide show of pens.  No, thank you.  I find such things unappetizing.

Auf freiem Grund mit freiem Volke stehn.
