At the moment, that price is valid at pen-life-collection on eBay BUT ...

The eBay seller office_supplies_pen has, just today, raised it's price to $106.

I have nothing more to say about that.

I understand that's done to hold a place and a listing when there’s a temporary stock outage. The high price is enough that no one should order, but once restocked the seller only needs to change the price

The seller is away on holidays at the moment. Ted A's answer makes sense in that context.

Still available from pen-life-collection at $US14.70, but they, two, are away on holidays. Chinese New Year.

Just be patient.

  • 2 months later...

How's this pen on dry-out (sitting a few days/weka) and burping.

Also wondering about the #5 nibs. Do the Kaweco & bock nibs fit the feed better than jowo?

Nearly three months, no dry starts at all, despite a week or so of inactivity at times.

No burps either. I have kept it topped up though.

I don't experience any burps or hard start. My pen is half full now and sometimes I let it unused for days.

My M2 is a 0.38 with a rather toothy/scratchy nib.

Not my best nib, by far. I’ve looked into my set of spare nibs and I dont have a #5.

Someone can corroborate the #5 nib, it will fit?

I've seen pictures of the Moonman M2 with a Kaweco Sport steel nib and another picture with a Faber-Castell steel nib.

And of course there's Chrisrap52's video review, during which he swaps the original nib for a Jinhao 1.1mm stub, which is what I plan to do.

I’ve put a Faber-Castell M steel nib into my M2 and it writes like a dream. I had the 0.5 nib in it originally, which was OK, but nothing special. The Faber-Castell nib is great. And it was a super-easy nib swap.

Were you able to fit the Faber castell feed also?

The Faber-Castell feed's nipple is irregularly lowered. It's not in the center position of the diameter of the feed (like you would expect in basically any other feed), so I would be very (pleasantly) surprised if one could swap the F-C feed too, since it has a triple ink channel on the top side which ensures a nice consistent wetness even for the Broad.

Indeed, I liked the FC nib and feed combo in the loom. When I put the nib in a jinhao 992 with the jinhao feed, it lost a lot of its quality. Turns out the jinhao nib in the loom got a little boost on the other hand.

Hey what a coincidence, I tried the same swap! The body of the Loom is a bit heavy and the metal section is a bit slippery when my fingers are sweaty. Mostly, I confess that I didn't want to spend shy of 10€ for the converter. But yeah, I agree with you assessment. The B nib with its feed is awesome, while in the Jinhao... it's still great but not as exciting.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
