Help Identifying Visconti

Recommended Posts

Just bought this set of 4 vintage pens for 10€ (<$12). What drew my attention is that the second one from the left is a Visconti and I have no idea what model or manufacturing year it can be. I know that the two pens on the right are spanish Inoxcrom (usually these are not very expensive). The one on the left is a generic no brand "Iridium point Germany" pen

Since I don't own a Visconti yet, it was the main reason to buy this lot. I think it has a steel nib and is one of their basic models but have no idea what model it is and appreciate your help to identify it. Waiting for penmail ...

Here the seller is showing the nibs in reversed order ... so the second from the right is the Visconti, the two on the left are the Inoxcrom and the one on the right is the generic pen.

Here are the caps in the same order, Looks like the Visconti has a spring loaded clip?

I know this is not the right subforum but to avoid double posts, if any of you knows what models the Inoxcrom are that´s also welcome info. Thanks in advance for your help.

I think the Visconti is a Pericle. Excellent steel nibs. Should be a good, reliable writer. I think they dated from the 1990s.

Thanks for your help, looks like I got a good bargain. Looks indeed like the 2001. Looking forward to try my first Visconti. Was looking for it on ebay to estimate it's value but can't find any ... are these so rare?

How was the Pericle? I am about to get one. Seems like a relatively unknown model from visconti.

Btw, the steel Inoxcrom is a Zeppelin, the blue marbled one is the model Paris.

Thanks for the info on the Inoxcrom. The Pericles 2001 is a great pen. It's a bit heavy but ok I posted. Steel nib is super smooth comparable with Faber Castell steel nib which is one of the smoothest steel nibs that I ever tried.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
