I got this alleged Cross Townsend from a small fleamarket, the clip is quite strange, there is no Cross brand on it.

Is it an older version or is there something missing on the clip ?

Others more versed than me will no doubt chime in, but it looks like a Townsend that at one point had a corporate logo on the clip. The logo, placed where the two holes are located at the top of the clip, looks like it has been lost or purposefully removed.

Cross occasionally did special editions like these with themed logo's on the clip.  These were for Doctors and Lawyers of course.

Let's look at the pen with the cap off. Do the nib and section appear to be from a Cross Townsend?

Does the cap come off with the familiar reluctance of the Townsend's rather firmly gripping cap? The clip is only one consideration.

That's definitely a Cross Townsend (Medalist finish) -- the two rings at the bottom of the cap is the primary identifier. I agree with other posters that the oddness with the clip is that someone had an emblem (probably a corporate logo of some sort) mounted on the clip, but it fell off/was removed/was stolen by gnomes.

Any good idea on how to get a cap with the Cross text engraved on the clip?

Ebay is always good to check. I saw a gold cap a few days ago https://www.ebay.com...g-/192393468196

Nice. Never saw these with a caduceus and scales before. Cute.

Thanks for showing.
