 This forum is too generous.

 Really.

 WAY TOO MUCH.  :P

So in order to give back to such a wonderful and generous community....

.... The least I can do is PIF a Pilot Birdie.

It has a Fine nib, and according to a Chinese friend of mine, it has a monogram that makes it belong to a laboratory/ research facility of some sort.

 DA RULES:

Post the fact that ya wanna be in, and add a picture of a handwritten note, (with a fountain pen, I know that's kinda obvious but I am jus' paranoid like dat).  :P

.... The handwritten note should just give us a short run down of your fountain pen hobby.

EX: I have been using Fountain Pens since November of 2010. I looooooooove Sheaffer! My first pen was a Pilot Varsity.... I have owned 17 pens since then, and after slimming my collection, I only have 6 now, (4 are my dailies, and 2 of 'em are off for repairs). I am a user... (And so on and so forth.)

The Birdie WILL come with: 1 EMPTY PILOT CARTRIDGE.

It can come with: A SYRINGE FOR REFILLING, A FEW SHEAFFER CARTS, AND/OR A PARKER MINI CONVERTER.

I will close the PIF next Sunday, (11th), sometime at night.

I will then RANDOMLY choose a name using one of them naming websites, and the winner will be announced and contacted.

I wish all of you the best of luck!

 - AL01.

Not an entry either, but thank you for doing this.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

 Another Extension....

Till I get any entries in...

There is no end date for the PIF.

When I get a few entries in, I will then give it an end date, so ignore my older post....

I first started with fountain pens in the early 80's when I was introduced by a friend. I used pens that my Mother had used in college and my friends Mother purchased a Mont Blanc for me. None of these pens worked well for me, but I did not know any better. I recently purchased two Pilot Metropolitan pens, and they work amazingly well for me. I purchased two based on a video on the Goulet Pen Company site where a guy posted his three favorite carry pens. I purchased one fine and one medium. In the letter that I will post, I used the fine tip, the medium tip, and then another Parker, that I think is a 45. Although the 45 is not my favorite, all of the Parker pens that I have tried work well for me, which makes me want to try other models of the Parker pens.

I am also working through the Pens that I inherited from my friend. He mostly had Hero pens. He had so man of those that I am giving them away on another thread here in the PIF.

So, I would love to have this pen to try.

My first FP was a Sheaffer Cartridge Pen (later called school pen when cartridge pens became more  common),  bought from a peg at the  grocery store.   I have used it continuously since.  Now I have several fountain pens, but still like that original pen.

I would love to have this little Pilot Birdie to use as a carry pen.

Thank you for making  this generous PIF.

 Well...

There has only been two entries since the PIF started....

I think I shall postpone the PIF till we get enough entries.

I am very very sorry if I have caused any inconveniences....
