Thanks, and all the best! The next thing I need to do is cover the bare walls of the display with some old advertisements and posters

Fantastic! Now I am inspired to put mine on display and love your set up. Where did you get the individual displays for $1?

Thanks

Thank you! The individual displays were from a seller on eBay. They seem to have increased their price a little - still worth it IMHO https://m.ebay.com/itm/Clear-Transparent-Acrylic-Pencil-Display-Stand-Small-Electronic-Pen-Rack-Holder-/112586145682?_mwBanner=1

I think that the display cabinet is great, but it will be even better when the pens are displayed against old adverts and posters. Hope you post updated photos, Good job.

Very nice. I like the addition of the advertising backgrounds. Good work!

Very nicely done! The adverts take it to another level. Must be very rewarding seeing that.

Wow, that's gorgeous!

Have you considered the curved acrylic pen holders for displaying? They'd let you hang your adverts the whole height of the shelf wall. They're usually between $1.50 and $2 on the Bay of E... I use them mainly for my Esties.

You're right, the acrylic holders would allow for the adverts to be full length and the display would look great. The problem is that it would take up too much space compared to the slots I have right now (and the cabinet is packed with pens - I need to thin down my collection!!). Don't be fooled by the empty slots in there, they are awaiting a rather large shipment that is on its way right now :)

True enough, and what you have looks terrific already.

Nnnh. Now I want to repurpose the glass display table I just bought to show off pens instead of uranium glass...

Wow. It looks great with the adverts and I especially like the way you've incorporated the books. An inspiration to others

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
