I have enquired in Gem and Co and Meenakshi stores. They did not have it. Let me check with Deccan pens.

Have you tried looking in Gema and Co, Chennai, Meenakshi Stores, Bangalore or Deccan pens at Hyderabad?

Hi All,

Where can i get Chelpark inks ? I used to use their blue and black inks when I was in school.

thanks,

Dinuraj

You are better off without those chelpark inks in the market, if available...

if you want good blue black... try Diamine Blue Black, Edelstein Tanzanite

True. I found a few bottles at an old time stationary shop in Pondicherry. Both of the black inks have deteriorated into a faded reddish Grey and one of the bottles cap has oxidized into a whitish powder internally, and this powder mixed with the ink.

The blue bottles were fine though.

ETA: The manufacturing year is 2009 and price was 16 rupees per bottle as far as I recall.

Thanks Vaibhav. I have some blue blacks already. Was looking for Chelpark for its nostalgic and sentimental values. Now, I will stay away from them. :-(

The crimson violet colour ink is quite good. Its quite smooth with my pilot metropolitan fountain pen.

I tried black in my Deccan Advocate it is smooth.

Perfectly fine. But can anyone guide me which is best ink when it comes to blue-black ink.

Pilot Blue- Black is the best Blue- Black ink that I have tried. Good water resistance, flows well, good lubrication and easy to clean.

Pelikan 4001 Blue- Black is also nice, but it's flow is on drier side hence it is okay if you are using it in wetter pens.

Daytone Blue- Black is inexpensive but nice ink too.

Have about 10-12 bottles of Royal Blue. I cleaned out a couple of stores in my town... Bought mainly for nostalgic value. Was the ink I used right through college...

Is Chelpark ink still manufactured? It may, or may not still say it contains 'Cleen-X'. This I assume to be a suggestion based around the additive mixture in Parker ink.Was there a link between Parker of India and Chelpark.

If the ink is out of production: When was the last batches made? I assume that the stuff has a shelf-life.

Meenakshi Pen Mart has shut down. I was in Bangalore last week and most of the shopkeepers told me that there used to be a store called Meenakshi Pen Mart, but it's gone now.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
