Where Could I Find A Pelikan Box?

AL01

Recommended Posts

Hello FPN...

I have just recently acquired a 140.

... And I always try to find a box that's representative of the brand of my pen.

(I.E: A Parker box, a Sheaffer Box, an Esterbrook Boc, a Cross box, etc.)

Where could I find a Pelikan box that's not too big and can fit an M200 - ish sized pen?

Thanks!

Check on ebay, search for - pelican box only - you'll see a few to choose from, although if you just search for - pelican - even more may turn up.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

I agree that eBay is your best place to try for a Pelikan box. (p.s. it's not that we don't know how to spell Pelikan but Safari spellcheck insists on changing it.) :)

lol, thanks for catching that Chrissy. I normally spell it right but it may have been a senior's moment.

Unfortunately I can't get the boxed shipped to the U.S.

(It's not on the US Amazon website either.)

I will check out eBAY...

Thanks!

From the link, go to the list that shows them all, then choose the 3rd one down in the list that is marked Amazon Prime. That one will ship to the US.

I'm still scratching my head over that, Two years on FPN and I don't recall ever misspelling Pelikan before.

Do you use an iMac or MacBook? Their spell checker always auto-corrects the word Pelikan to Pelican. I have to change it back every time I type it. That's what I assumed had happened to you, and the only reason I mentioned anything. :)

No, Windows. I thought maybe I was using the new Vivaldi web browser instead of IE when I posted and it may have auto-corrected but I just tested that and it didn't so it must have been me. One of the benefits of getting old, I guess.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
