Thanks for help with clarifying the difference between 3 and 4. I now know I have the bakul flat 3 and the glossy 3C, along with the 5 demonstrator - glad to have the advice about the 4 step down. At any rate, my Rangas are lovely and have received many compliments since I purchased them in previous group buys :)

KEEP CALM AND BOOGIE ON!

SILENCE IS GOLDEN, BUT DUCT TAPE IS SILVER.

Hi

What are the dimensions of each of the models? Length, weight, width? Can a particular model be shortened or lengthened? Can all models come either with a domed cap and domed body end or a flat top and flat body end?

Thanks

Eytim,

I submitted my order assuming that these pens could also be used as eyedropper pens. Does the bock nib setup make this unrealistic?

In fact Bock nib units make these with 3 in 1 filling system.

Cartridge Convertor and eyedropper

So you can use them as ed filled without any problem. Just use silicone grease at both threads, nib unit- section and section- barrel and you're good to go.

Outstanding! I had hoped that this was the case. Thanks for the info.

Can I get a clip on the Model #5?

I know it won't fit most pockets... but when I was in India, I had a vest made with extra-long pockets for my oversized pens :)

> Without Nib But Pen threaded to take Bock Nib (@ less US$ 14)

I have a Ranga Zeal that I tried to put an ebonite feed in, but it didn't fit in the Bock threading -- can I get a smooth bore sized for standard #6 (6.3mm) feed/nib?

> 6th Pen is model 5A Demonstrator with Ebonite Cap and Section

Is the demonstrator with ebonite cap and section available in Model #4 as well? Do I just request model 4A?
I love both ebonite and seeing how much ink I have.
My Ranga Zeal looks like this model. (it even shows ink color in the finial!)
@sansenri -- thanks for the post with extra pictures! I just got a Gama Kuyil and like the texture but was worried how ripple material would look, and yours look way nicer than I was expecting.

Form submitted.

I'm excited for my very first ebonite experience; ordered a mottled green Model 3 with gold hardware.

Dear Sir,

Model 5 is available in Clipless only. We cannot bore the Bock plastic housing unit as it is very thin and it is moulded.

Model 4A & 5A is not part of this group buy.

Take care

How long is the model 4 pen without the cap?

Also, I never replaced a nib unit before so excuse my lack of knowledge. I like #5 nibs more so if I later decided that the #6 nib is too big for me, is it possible to simply replace the nib unit with another?

Thanks for the help!

actually, no.6 nib unit is not that long ...

but these nibs cannot be interchanged as the housing that takes the nib have different dia...

For sizes, you can see that the Model 4 is almost the same size as model 3... uncapped approx 135mm

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
