Celluloid... What Does It Matter?

its perhaps worth noting that celluloid was used in pencils way before pens.  
this magic pencil from an unknown maker likely dates back to the late 1800's.  i know hicks made celluloid pencils around that time as well that are similar to this one.

Wow.  That's a really beautiful little thing, isn't it?  I don't normally collect pencils (to the point of bypassing sets) but that one is really unusual looking.
