So its a question that seems to prop up from time to time, but then it seems a never ending quest for that elusive single pen that's there. IMHO it boils down to what kind of supply channel you getting your pen ( which usually limit what you can get ) vs viewer expectations. To be fair and honest almost all the new and current models had some form of exposure on the media sites already, and for those models that did not made it, its either hard to get ( which lessen audience interest ) or deemed too plain, too boring, or so ...

The one fact I've found with most media sites regarding fountain pen review is a lack of background research and proper preparation to present a pen, Chinese fountain pens suffer this worst ( one of the worst at least ) .. so many mis-info was presented that it made me laugh.

If you want to review some Chinese pens that are hmm, less covered, be prepared for a deluge of question from truly hobbyist in the wanting to know. But also factor if the pen in question actually interest the community. I can easily list a long list of pens, but I would advice to start with more or less current production / cataloged / stocked items as these mean viewers can go off and get their own if they are interested.

Now for a list :

Hero H610 ( a 2017 new model , use Vector style nib / feed but had a gorgeous metal construction )

Hero H703 original model ( a gold nibbed pen that's more or less a pencil size ), still cataloged, jus made sure its not the new 2017 model which is a different sized but same styled pen

Hero 200 any version ( I have no idea why this very common gold nibbed model never got covered )

Wing Sung 613 new production re-issue ( despite already out for quite some time, it seems few had review it on the Tube )

M&G student pens various models( OK these are the $2 per pack of 4 or 5 ; but they are fun to have )

M&G the leaf ( interesting petite pen , one of M&G less common non-student / school pen )

Kaigelu ( pretty much any current ones other than the 316 )

Thank you for taking the time to actually respond with some great advice and knowledge. Im planning to write down facts about a pen before I really review them, but for the channel I want to try to build a community where people comment things I left out and other people can learn new things from the comments section and from my videos. But again thank you for taking the time to list the pens out I really do appreciate it.

Ignorance is not a crime. Its to be expected especially regarding this subject. The motto is to be honest about facts and try not to guesstimate which is usually the case with bunch of media site reviewer ... Most of their remarks regarding Chinese pen keep me amused for long

If you have specific questions regarding certain pen ; do not hesitate to ask Q here on this forum or even message off the board. Yhus is a hobby and we can learn from each others always

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
