Seems like a very quiet announcement, especially given the previous fanfare behind the 3776 NICE Lavender.

The price is set at 20,000 yen, so it looks like its more under the NICE category (the code ends with "A" instead of "S" for the NICE Century pens). Also, it seems that the serial number comes with the card for first-run pens, similar to the Lavender.

I'm a bit disappointed; it looks very like the Sai, except for the cap band.

Too many pens, too little time!

Indeed it looks like 3776 Sai. Except the band on the cap and at the end of the pen.

Actually, according to the Platinum (English version) website, it was previously released as the Five Lakes Motosu (with changes to the band and cap nut to follow the revamped band and cap nut of the Kawaguchi and Shungyo). At least they didn't pretend that it's not a rehash of a previous model. I'm tempted to get one because I missed the first three of the Five Lakes series (though they are arguably pretty meh, unlike the last two).

Not a fan of clear demonstrators.  I'll wait for another colored release like the Shungyo.

That's a really interesting finial! I don't love it or hate it.

Just seen one in a Tokyo pen store. It looks quite unlike the NICE series as it has a non-striated body, which is a definite plus IMHO. The pen looks close to the Sailor 1911 large demonstrator but with silver decorations and, unlike some of the previous commentators, I find the pen most attractive and elegant. I may get one while I am in Japan.

Since I'm looking for a clean demonstrator, this one is seriously taken into account !
