The Official FPN Facebook Group is run by FPN Moderators.

There is also a FPN Facebook Group which is not official, so the group which is connected with the FPN Forum has "Official" in the title.

Are we so sure of that?

I'd rather keep my meatspace and virtualspace me's separate.

Yes we are positive as I Moderate both, however if you don't wish to join the Facebook group that is entirely your choice. :)

I am not on Facebook. Can someone let me know what the difference in content is between the forum and FB sites (official and unofficial)?

Maybe it's time for me to stop lurking in the shadows... :)

Totally different Leonard. The footfall is markedly more here and is much more structured.

How many people does it take to comment on a question on FPN? One to give advice and make suggestions. Another one to repeat everything that the first poster has said. Fourteen to share their own experiences of their pens and comment on how the original advice was flawed. Seven who just want to increase their post count. One to say that they have no regrets about doing anything and people should follow their example. Another to say that if there is anything wrong with the pen it is just down to using Diamine Shimmer ink. Six to argue over whether its a worth doing anything with it and the OP should just throw it away and buy their Parker 51. One to ignore who uses 'I' four times in each post. Another six to condemn all of the above as being  stupid and anyway they would rather be on FP Geeks. One to say that the pen is cheaper where they live. Five people to post pics of their own pens. One to say that if the OP had Faith then the pen would work - and gets banned very quickly. Finally, one to close down the thread because it has lost its way.

The Facebook group is nowhere near as large, posts are varied and not as easily searchable by subject.

We Really don't have any room for outsiders to be using the pages of FPN especially when this
particular GROUP attracts a lot of world wide criticism for their unlawful behaviour, I do not know of any other group using FPN as a base and being allowed to do that without our approval,if someone gave them that approval it should be withdrawn as not being so. I would hope that the Moderators of FPN are more selective. Every day we are being advised that Social media which is what Facebook is has attracted much attention for the ways in which it operates such as selling
its members Data,Shock Horror!!! I hope nobody else does that. Trust Me, Oneill

The group known as "The Fountain Pen Network" Facebook group has nothing to do with us as such, we are aware of the issues which have occurred there but we have no legal claim on the name and have no control over their behaviour.

"The Official Fountain Pen Network" Facebook group is us and there is no impropriety in that group.
