I completely forgot to introduce myself as I must have overlooked that this section existed. My apologies. I Just got into collecting fountain pens but have been buying them for the past two years. I was one of those "Ebay resellers" that would buy them up at flea markets and just sell them with no care for the pen or the history. After doing this for awhile, learning about them, and amassing many different ones I started to grow an interest in them and an interest in repairing them. I would pick one or two out of the lots I got at flea markets or auctions and would keep them because I liked them. I then amassed a small collection and now repair them and learn the history behind the pen. Im also learning how to repair more tougher pens such as vac fillers or vacumatics and I eventually want to learn more in depth nib repair.  I still buy many at the flea markets and still resell a lot since I cant keep all of them but I since made it an effort to only sell pens that work and have been gone through. I do still sell a pen as is here and there if its one I do not feel comfortable toying with. I also plan to attend my first pen show in Philly in a few weeks and hope to find some pens I want like a red clear Waterman Hundred Year pen.

My collection so far includes:
Waterman 13 eyedropper with a waterman NY star nib bhr
Waterman 52 red ripple
Aurora .925 cartridge fill
Aiken Lambert Capitol Cabinet bhr
Waterman 12 1/2 V eyedropper bhr
Morrison The Patriot in all blue
Waterman 92 in black 1930's
Parker Vacumatic Major in Blue Azure
Markograph ring top in a red and gold marbled celluloid
Parker 51 first year double jewel gold filled cap in ceder blue with a speedline filler
Parker Duofold Big Red Senior
Parker Duofold jr in Chinese Red
Ingersoll oversized in jade green celluloid
Ingersoll dollar pen in Chinese red celluloid
Parker striped duofold senior in blue pearl
Parker striped duofold major in green and gold
Arnold black with green and white swirls with matching pencil
Some no name celluloid marbled pen I found digging in a barn
Eagle Pencil company in mandarin yellow
Park Pen oversize flat top
Eversharp skyline in dubonnet red with green and red celluloid cap
Eversharp skyline demi in gray modern stripe
Banker green white swirl flat top
Eversharp Skyline in marine green with gold filled cap
Eversharp Skyline in navy blue
Eversharp Skyline in dubonnet red with plain cap
Parker 51 single jewel vacumatic demonstrator

I also collect and repair antique electric fans and tube radios. My fan collection is extensive with examples ranging from 1898 to the 1970s, some from other countries, some that run on obsolete power, and many shapes and sizes.

Hi GoldenNibs, that's quite the collection. Good to meet you.

Do you use any of your pens?

I do. Some of the ones pictured are usable. I just finished redoing the Parker Red Senior and writes nicely. Most of the ones I fixed recently I intend to sell. I was gonna fix the rest of my collection but I ran out of sacs. When I order the sacs I will fix the rest of these. I was taking some pen repair notes the other week with the Waterman 13 eyedropper which is a lovely writer but I need to get some silicone grease since a tiny bit of ink likes to get past the threads and on your fingers.

Welcome !

Knowledge of your product certainly aids in pricing, on Ebay.  Fountain pens, restored to working condition, bring the best prices.  This is a great place to learn.

Hello and welcome to FPN, from Cape Town, South Africa.

To sit at one's table on a sunny morning, with four clear hours of uninterruptible security, plenty of nice white paper, and a [fountain] pen - that is true happiness!
