MB Heritage 1912 in B nib. Pretty smooth and with a little line variation (stubish would say). Here some pictures of this beauty:

A nice find Nathanb. I had the resin LE but sold it in search of another adventure. Enjoy your new treasure with the shiny bits. :)

Sure, just shoot me your address and I'll get that wrapping paper and ribbon on its way to you. ;)

I actually cleaned out some drawers in the office today and could not believe how much MB ink I have been socking away. I may have an issue. Time to start spilling more with each refill.

That's a beautiful 75th Anniversary 146 Rose Gold Doué with a Fine Nib.

After seeking it for a long time, it must have been especially meaningful to find it.

Thank you for including a handwriting sample showing how well it writes.

What is “#162/1924”? Does that indicate that there were 1924 of these pens made and yours is #162?

I'm unfamiliar with this model, so I'm uncertain.

Thank you for sharing the photos and handwriting sample from your Heritage 1912 with a B nib.

Is that a bottle of Iroshizuku Yama-Budo?

The color is refreshing in such a Bold nib.

The stubbish character of the nib results in a vivid line.

May this pen bring you much writing pleasure in 2018 and beyond.

You are correct. The pens came out in 1999 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the start of the Meisterstuck line in 1924. And the 90th was in 2014, which you have some of those pens. In 2014 they did not issue 146 or 149 LE pens, just the 1 year SE production of the red gold and special nibs. Edited by zaddick

Like buses, two recent purchases arrived today. Both used, but in an almost unused condition.

The Ms nib is finer than the 1912 (which is definitely a M) but the previous owner says he sent it back for a wider nib as the original was too fine. It is however, finer than my new F Exupery.

Anyway, two pens for the price of one and neither of them lemons so Im happy.

Thanks guys, the M was an impulse purchase at an incredible price. The 1912 I viewed recently new and decided I had to have one. Really need to start selling soon to balance my books!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
