Lamy Vibrant Pink Le 2018 Ink

That's a great comparison. Hope Pink is pretty, isn't it!

My thought, too. Of the five, it's the stand-out.

I use two pinks, Pelikan 4001 and Sailor Pink, and also have Lamy Coral always inked but is it pink or is it orange?

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

The color is really nice, it's a strong hot pink, but with nice shading. The sheen is not as visible as Yama budos, not even on Tomoe River paper. But tbh I don't mind that, I like it when the sheen appears randomly, so to speak surprising me while writing.

The glitter might be in the bottle for the sake of making the bottle prettier since it doesn't transfer to the paper. At least not for me. I only found 1 silver particle in the little sample I made with it. (The a in Lamy) So if you don't like sparkly inks don't let that keep you away.

My bottle of ink and the Al-Star arrived today (well, technically yesterday since it's past midnight). The ink is lovely. Dragorsi sums it up nicely here - the glitter bits are exceedingly sparse on paper, and the sheen is light and random, shading is nice but not the best shader of my inks. Everything about this ink, except the color, is subtle.

The pen? Meh

Oh, I think I'm gonna get at least a sample of Hope Pink! Thanks for the picture!

Since then I've used the ink quite a bit and unfortunately it feathers a little on every paper except Tomoe river. :/ With a Lamy M nib. So that's not very nice. I'm not used to feathering issues, I guess I was spoiled so far! :D

I've not noticed any feathering from Vibrant Pink. Used it on HP Everyday, Rhodia bloc, some Conqueror, plus TR.

Thanks for this. I'm gonna try it our in different pens, maybe that will make a difference.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
