My brown Live In You Future arrived today. I cycled water in and out through the feed several times an d filled it with the included black ink. It wrote right off and is smooth with enough feedback. It’s a Schmidt fine. It sort of looks like a baby Antique Marble Edison Collier. The section is really narrow. So far I can’t find any fit and finish problems. But I’ve only had the pen for 2 hours so I’ve only looked for glaring problems

Having Edited for Jinhao /Baoer for many years I am delighted to see so many members using this fabulous affordable Brand ,let me tell you they would have to be amongst the best pen you will ever have the pleasure of using, Let me recommend a Jinhao that every member should have it uses two names for some reason that I don't know but try these for the same pen it is called Either The Abalone OR the Mother of pearl ,I had the pleasure of Naming this pen and I love it so much I have three in my collection, Trust Me Oneill.

Wing Sung 765 Steel Flighter ... the economic priced variant of this model , and consequently lighter build, less adored, but also lighter in weight which made it vastly more usable for some. I had Hero 234 Carbon black in it

A Jinhao 911 I got yesterday. My first new pen for nearly a year, so I thought I'd splash out & go for a really high end one - the 911. ;)

Hmm. I was hoping it'd be as good as the now unavailable J321 ( https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/141747-jinhao-321-review/?p=1405059 ). I don't think it is. But not too bad. Had to fiddle with the nib & it seems to dry out fast. Just wish it was not a Fine, otherwise it'd be quite nice to use regularly.

Regards,

Richard.

Hi Richard, Oneill here , I hope that I have mentioned this before but if not,Jinhao /Baoer convertors are not washed out when manufactured so there always is a small quantity of Manufacturers Oil left in them A extra Good Flush is my way of getting them to work I e, Rinse after flushing, with Clean Water. Gui-Guan 300 Nickel Grey .. EF nib, positive feedback and leaning to the dry side, don't expect any line variation, full metallic construction, my own mix of green ( don't quite recall the actual ink used )

Jinhao x750 as a daily driver, and I also go between Baoer 388 and Jinhao 991. All of their nibs are aligned a bit for my taste (no grinding, I don't have the tools, but smoothing and making wetter with loupe and fingernail trick).

I use a bunch of Chinese pens every day, but a couple of days ago I inked up my Yiren 270 again. Great writer for an EF nib.

Jinhao 159, I like the size of this. Gold and sliver trim ones, smooth and writes amazingly well.

Jinhao x750, fits in the inside pocket of my cut perfectly. Not to big

Shaffer, unknown model but has italic nib to put a nice address on the letter I'll send.

Pilot MR, I prefer the Jinhao over this, it's a touch small....scratchy on a Med Nib as well.....

Jinhao 500 with Bock #5 EF nib inked with Diamine Sapphire Blue.

For work: A Delike Alpha that now has a Jinhao nib (from the J500). Inked with Diamine Majestic Blue.

Today I have a new arrival in the shape of the Wing Sung 601A (a 601 with a wrap around nib) and it is AWSOME :D  .

Ink is Diamione Red Dragon.

No pics as camera batteries charging.

Im being using jinhao 992 for about 3 months now and i just really enjoying the smoothness of the nib. I love the design which homage of Sailor 1911, its looks pretty in transparent blue and fancy ring in the cap says "jinhao" and in the barrel that keeps feed have that jinhao's logo. For now, it never had any crack or any issue so i just hope this pen still become one of my daily writer!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
