Yesterday I planned to use a 1952 Aurora 88 not previously inked by me although cleaned and greased. It soon demonstrated a small air leak by depositing Lie de Thé over my fingers. Back to the workshop for a piston check.

Fortunately (well, habit) I carried two reserve Pelikans, idly switching between the extra fine line of a 1930s 100 grey, and the smooth beauty of a 1980s M400 tortoise. Inky fingers had to remain until I returned home.

I'm using my new (birthday present from my husband) Kaweco Liliput. It's the fire blue with EF nib. Diamine Blue Velvet ink looks great with the varying blue/copper tones. I did the flush with soapy warm water and the pen worked from the get-go. It's a pleasure to write with; it's the current favorite and will come to many meetings to do its work! Very pleased with the pen. I also got a fine nib in case the EF was too scratchy or had poor flow. Not the case here though.

Are you using a converter with the pen?

I keep looking longingly at the Fire Blue.  Then I look at the price tag and get all normal again....  But of course it's going back on the "wish list" again.

Which is having to be rebuilt from scratch after a little, uh, disagreement between Apple and Yahoo Mail -- which apparently includes Notes -- and they decided to use my laptop as their fight club location yesterday...; and may ALSO explain why I had to change my FPN password last week to log on....

Using my new FPR Himalaya with Noodler's Gruene Cactus with my first ever flex nib.  A joy and not at all difficult to get used to.

Along with using my workhorse Pilot MR Pop in Medium with Noodler's Black and Jinhao 500 with Bilberry.

Well, this is why I asked (amazing what you can find on the Internet -- almost as amazing as what you *can't*....:

B)

Back on subject; today it's been:

Parker 61 (black), M nib -- diluted Birmingham Truss Blue.

Parker 61 (red), M nib -- diluted (unknown) reconstituted black ink [now being flushed out].

Pelikan 300, OB nib -- Diamine Terra Cotta.

Lamy LX, M nib -- Lamy Blue (cartridge).

Today I have written at some point or other with each of:

Pelikan M400 tortoise from the 1980s (great) with Waterman Brown

Onoto Junior from the late 1930s (nice little lever filler) with a random mixture of R.O. and Waterman inks, looking dark green.

Onoto Magna ink-visible from the late 1930s (fabulous) with R.O. Deep Sea

Onoto 2500 from the 1920s (see below) with MB Corn Poppy red.

Only the 2500 is ill-behaved, shedding ink liberally unless stored upright, with ink shutoff not working and quite likely new cork seals needed. Nice pen though.

edit:added inks
