There seem to be a few NOS popping up on ebay, though I can't find any details outside of ebay. Certainly look attractive....

I can't help, but thanks for showing me something I haven't heard of before. Interesting! It seems to lack the elongated section of most Japanese long-short / pocket pens like the Elite.

 

edit- there's some useful photos here. Looks like a bottled ink only squeeze bladder filler, with a hood around the same length as my old Jinhao 321.

RAINBOW 237 and 239 are short type fountain pen of Tianjing Pen Factory. My 237's nib is broken.

They are short but they are not the long section body / very short barrel / long over cap design like the Pilot Elite. They are more like shortening the barrel to a point that it will fit into pocket easily, but the pen otherwise is everything normal sized. The other mades all have something similar, say Gold Star 707 which is very much just a 703 with a short barrel
