I don't know why but I automatically associate Freddie Mercury with the purple colour. Nice one!

LG - you have been amazing for doing this project.  Halloween, it couldn't have gone without your continued contributions.

On Sunday, I'm taking my family to see It's a Wonderful Life.  I will think of you.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Want to get a special letter / gift from me, then create a Ghostly Avatar

Recently realising I'd never completed my commitment to this project, I filled my Namiki Falcon with some Noodler's Raven (a Wonderpens exclusive), dug out my Black & White album by The Stranglers and listened to  Walk On By as I finished the project.

I'm aware of my limitations regards drawing people . . . but shoes! I didn't appreciate shoes were so tough to draw.

Pen: Namiki Falcon SF
Ink: Wonderpens / Noodler's Raven Black
Paper: Daler-Rowney Graduate sketch pad (I quite like the staple in the shot)

Whether they have shoes on or not, I rather like the drawing!  I looked up the group and the album cover and I think you've done a credible version of the cover art.

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

ETA: Recently I've had a chance to sit down and watch the series Genius: Picasso.  And there's the dialectic all through the series between "representational" art vs. "modern" art, and does one want to do a portrait of someone completely realistically -- since it's the age of photography where you can have a faithful likeness -- or expand on what CAN'T be shown in a photograph?

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Thank you.
I agree. I'm not normally a fan of drawings or paintings that are photorealistic.

This was my favourite work from 2017 BP Portrait Award.

Must look out for the series now you've mentioned it :)

Now I thought of that Jesus fresco that was repaired by a Spanish lady...
