Egoistar is korean producer of inks. I know little about the company. They oofer good variety of fountain pen friendly inks. Sadly, it seems that ordering these inks is quite difficult due to Korea customs urestricting shipemnt of liquids.

Fellow pen enthusiats from Poland managed to procure four bottles through family and shared samples witjh me. Didi - thanks a lot! It was fun to test these inks. Also, I have to say I really enjoyed these inks. As samples were small and I used them in very wet pens (my flock of Kawecos with broad and double broad nibs), I won't be able to claim that the inks are problem-free in long term use. In short-term writing, though, I was impressed.

Silence of the Old Leaves / September Leaves has great color and excellent flow and feels wet, the way J. Herbin inks feel. Drying times are satisfying (5 seconds or less on absorbent papers, 10-15 seconds on Rhodia when the ink is used in very wet nib. I like this one a lot.

Ohh I wish I never saw this. This is exactly the type of murky green I love! Of course it's near impossible to get  Thanks for the brilliant review as always!

tried eBay, Ali express and some Korean sites, but the Korean sites do not ship internationally... :( And I am not aware of services like US Unlocked or OPAS

Shame about the availability. I would certainly give this a try.

Thank you for showing us this ink, Vis. Could you compare it to anything else you have used?

Yes.. is nice, but I can think of at least 5 murky greens similar to this.. (from Sailor, KWZ , Stipula, Noodlers.. etc..) :D

My daughter-in-law just happens to have a sister in Korea right now . . . hmmmmmm.

Normally, I'm a fan of muted colors, but this one is far too reminiscent of my canned pickle uniform during USAF basic training. It's bad enough that I had to spend nearly all of six weeks wearing a color that made me look like I had end stage liver disease, without having the reminder of it when I'm doing something that makes me happy like writing with one of my pens.

I'll never have anything to do with that color again as long as I live.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
