Oxonian's Contact Information Please

There's a nib in case that needs repair and tuning, and my understanding is that Oxonian is a trusted and competent nib tuner. Would someone please PM me his contact information?

Thanks in advance,

The website link is frozen, also John Sorowka would prefer that his email address is not for public circulation, in fact I dont think that anyones email address should be made public without their express permission

Too late for that, and it wasn't frozen when I looked. It is out there and available on a Google search on Fountain Pen Network Philippines

You could edit your post.

I am sure that Oxonian will be very grateful for publicising his email address, he has specifically said that he does not want this to happen.

This has been reported, I will leave it to the mods to decide what is right and what is wrong.

That FPN Phillippines thread has been on the Internet since 2013 and is available to anyone who searches for Oxonian pen repairers email address. If John didin't want it on there no doubt he would have been in touch by now.

An email has just been received from John on this subject and he has specifically asked that his personal email address is removed from this thread please.

The problem for John is you can find his email address within 1-2 pages of a google search. I doubt very much he could change his email address either due to the dependancy on it for repair work. There will only be a certain amount from the few pen shows over here and a number of the pen shops who also use him.

The bottom line is that he has specifically requested that his personal email address is removed from this thread and its availability elsewhere on the internet is not relevant.

This is a personal choice and should be respected and not made public on FPN if that is against the wishes of the owner.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. I was aware that Oxonian didn't want his email circulated, which is why I thought it best to ask if someone could send it via PM. If anyone knows of any other UK-based nib tuners, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks,

James

This is becoming a popular slow burn thread.

Oh man, I'm totally gutted, my Sailor Pro Gear Sky slipped and damaged the nib! It's my prize possession.

I'm in Finland, and as far as I can tell no one here even knows what a fountain pen is.

If someone could PM me the email I'd be very grateful. I tried using the send email function under his profile but realized it probably doesn't work.

I know that, but prefer to respect the man's wishes once they were clearly stated in this thread.

He's not my personal slave to treat how I wish, no matter how desperate I am, that's just not cool IMHO.

Out of curiosity, what difference is there between the email address being given to you via PM, and sourcing it elsewhere on the Internet? The result is the same.

And if his wishes are genuinely those stated by others, they have remained as stated here. His email address is not in this thread. The external link is to a location online that has the address, of which we have no control over.

The diiference is that John has made a request that his personal email address, or links to the address, are not publicised on FPN, John has no control over that Philippines site otherwise I am sure that he would have asked for it to be removed. Johns email address has been shown in this thread and has been removed by a Mod and as has been indicated by a Mod above, contact John through FPN personal messages

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
