Hello! I have been reading this network searching for reviews and comments about pens over the last year and it has become my first source of information. Thank you for all the relieve you have provided in my moments of doubts! I have loved fountainpens since I was a child and started to use very cheap ones in college, refilling the cartridges with a syringe and usually making a mess in the process (I imagine it may sound familiar to many). Now that I'm older, I'm trying to achieve a dream: to have at least one-cheaper-but-good version of each of the best and older fountainpen brands. But, as that goal implies a budget, I'm enjoying the detour, collecting more fountainpens than I want to admit: several Lamy, a couple of Faber Castell Loom, Kaweco Sport, Brunnen, J. Herbin, Rotring (for calligraphy), Brause (also for calligraphy although they are very nice to use on a daily basis) and my brand new Eco TWSBI and Pelikan M200. I post my amateur-reviews in my Instagram account, just to share with my friends this passion (one they call addiction). Not sure if I can add something of value to the vastness of information you have created, but certainly I´ll keep reading your opinions and experiences. So happy to have joined! =)

Hello and welcome to FPN, from Cape Town, South Africa.

To sit at one's table on a sunny morning, with four clear hours of uninterruptible security, plenty of nice white paper, and a [fountain] pen - that is true happiness!

Welcome !

Please allow me to suggest the vintage Parker 45 fountain pen, and the Sheaffer "students" pen.

Both are early cartridge pens, that were very successful and have endured many years.

Thank you for the welcome. There are a lot of places to get fountainpens. For instance, Papelaria is where I usually get different models of Lamy, all of my Leuchtturm1917 and some sets of Brause (fountainpens). Also in Arte Nostro, plus they sell different brands of ink and can change nibs too, so, better deal. In Arte Nostro I bought my Brunnen too. The Faber Castell (not Graf von Faber Castell) in Color Animal. The Kaweco and J. Herbin in Artepapel, also a calligraphy Brause set. The TWSBI and the Pelikan in Penshop.cl. Those are just a few.

My reviews are in spanish, so I'll translate them into english to share and compate notes. =)
