I've just had delivery of a blue PFM V to add to my small collection and so far I am delighted with it, as I was with my others.  I received it literally 15 minutes ago so have done nothing to it yet, the photo shows it as it arrived.

I have a service kit on the way from Pendragons as a precaution even though it appears on brief inspection not to need it and it joins my PFM II and my gold-filled Imperial Triumph fountain pen and ballpen.

Congratulations on your new addition. Looks in good shape especially the cap. I have a couple of them but not with the design on your cap. Enjoy your new pen....

Nice pen. Congrats! It’s a pen worth waiting for, don’t you think?  :)
I have a PFM III and I really like it, one of my favorite Sheaffer's pens (I have them more than forty).

Sure is worth waiting for, the prices for good ones seem to be going up a bit too much.

I thought there was only one cap design on the Vs, what other designs appeared on the gold-filled caps?

All the PFMs are super writers but my favorite for looks is the V, especially the blue or burgundy colors.

Congratulations your purchase. You're going to love it.

As far as I know, there are two.  They are quite similar, just variations on how the vertical lines group and peak.  If I can find a photo comparing them, I'll post it.

ETA: Richard Binder shows the difference about 2/3 the way down this page: http://www.richardspens.com/?prof=pfm

Best Regards, greg

As Greg mentioned the difference is only in length of grooves. Your cap looks to be with long grooves.

Yes, it has the 2 extended grooves at the top.

I have the V in black and green. And I love the colors because I don't have the other colors. :)

BTW, the IV is also very attractive pen. I have it with black barrel and section.

I prefer all steel/ silver trim on my pens, so the II is my favorite:

Hi viju,

I have a black III that is a natural stub, but the grey II is a factory B that I had stubbed.
