New Parker Jotters - Surprisingly Cool!

Has anyone seen the new Jotter special editions in the flesh - the ones with London architecture as their design inspiration?

I think the blue one looks cool from the pictures at jotterlondon.com. I wonder how deep the engraving is, might be handy as I usually don't go for steel pens, I find the smooth surface too slippery.

I don't have the architecture ones but the coloured barrel ones are nice. Appear to be a finish over the stainless steel. I have slipping issues with the regular stainless steel Jotters but these are surprisingly not like that. But the new stainless steel and stainless steel with gold clip are like the regular stainless steel Jotter. I have the royal blue, grey with stainless cap, Bond Street Black and gold.

But having said all that if your able to get to a store and check out I would do that. I' ve been using the royal blue, stainless cap for a week daily for work and journal. No slip issues.

My wife asked if you can get it in purple☺. Hmmm, yes you can.

Hi, In the UK, a well-known Supermarket has had them in stock for the last two or three weeks.

I thought that the mech pencil had been dropped from production, but it's in this set, with the new style clip.

Quite interesting box design with the pens making up the union flag shape.

Do tell! I thought the same about the pencil btw.

These pens cost about three times the standard (plastic) Jotter and are in my opinion overpriced.

I bought the sky blue and the red one.

They are indeed beautiful pens - and inspiring.

The engraving is not very deep. You can feel the grooves and it seems to help the grip - I did a comparison with a steel one I have. So, yes, the grooves do improve the grip a bit. It feels like the pen has been lightly dusted with something - and not in a bad way.

That's useful Sandy, thanks very much. I had a look in Rymans while I was in the city centre earlier this week, but they only had the coloured stainless steel Jotters, not these new ones.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
