Are All 52 1/2 V Caps Interchangeable?

Hmm I know the conversation is about 52 1/2v's, but I have 2 52's and they noticeably differ in diameter. So much so that the larger cap threads onto the smaller body fine but the larger body will not take the smaller cap.

Yes, when you're talking about models that were in production for a couple of decades, it isn't surprising that there were small changes in fit.

I've had a few 52 1/2 V 's come and go from my collection. Currently I have 3, 2 are cardinal red and 1 is a black chased. None of them are interchangeable. Not even the 2 red ones. Once I had a gold one that was much smaller than any 52 1/2V that I've seen.

Once I had a gold one that was much smaller than any 52 1/2V that I've seen.

 

Well, we know what happened to that one. :)


I consider getting from point A to point B an undue constraint on what might otherwise be an enjoyable drive.
