Montblanc 22 Parts Needed

Warhammer57

Recommended Posts

I messed up big time and cracked my fore part of my MB 22 and I need a different feeder case. Please see attached pic. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I appreciate any assistance; I really want to get this pen in working order. Thanks!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but old MB parts are increasingly hard to find. MB doesn't have them and collectors will often be reluctant to part with them, as they can use them to fix their own pens.

Parts-pens from (eg) ebay used to be the solution - but, these days anything with the white snowcap can sell for silly money, so that's not always a viable option, either.

There are some experts on the forum who can repair cracks, they may be an option?

Why do you need a new feeder case, if it's the outer section that is cracked? Or have I misunderstood?

Good luck in your quest.

Feeder case was one that required a small O-ring (I found a different one already). I tried an o-ring and it was too big and cracked the outer section.

I have a burgundy section that looks like yours. Your pen looks black, though.

There is Five Star Pens, who has a lot of other pen parts. Perhaps one of the Parts sellers knows someone who has the part you need.

I acquired the burgundy section in a group of parts on ebay. "Montblanc parts" is a good starting search, and repeat the search from time to time and something might come up. A lot of these parts searches take time and patience. Sometimes it takes years to find a part. I can remember throwing a pen away only to find the part needed shortly thereafter. Patience is something needed in collecting anything. The item you seek might take a long time to be available in the condition you want it in. When you are exasperated and at the end of your tether searching for something, patience.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
