Delike Brass Pen Long Term Review

Bummer. I was hoping that mine would be better since the converter's overall design is nice and attractive.

At least it's not a proprietary design. Any old standard international converter will fit.

So it's really an international converter, not a Platinum converter, as it appears to be?

I checked mine. International converter (jinhao) fits. Platinum converter does not fit .

Really bizarre, but yes. SI converter all the way.

I did just discover that the PenBBS pens all take a parker converter.... Because... reasons?

I couldn't get any converter other than the one that came with it to fit in my 308.

On another note, for those of you who prefer a plain vanilla nib broader than EF, Delike now offers this pen and their New Moon 2 with a M nib, supposedly with a 0.58~0.6mm line width.

I don't know what availability is like outside China, but I've got one of the nib units coming in the mail and will do a writing sample comparison once it gets here.

The parker converter is a bit tight but it does fit.

My medium nib for this pen came yesterday and it is outstanding. I just screwed it in, filled the pen, and it writes a nice smooth and wet 0.7mm-ish line. Delike is really doing a great job with their nibs.

Here's what happened with my Baystate Blue debacle:

Thankfully the other Delike converter has performed better on its second fill. No leaking yet even though it leaked on the first fill.

Dang. That ink is the devil's blue. Nothing that good comes without a risk of some serious staining.

Hope it didn't drip on anything.

I idiotically stained the button on my camera taking the picture. There's also a little blue spot now on the kitchen counter, but thankfully no one has noticed yet.

.. and Im still waiting for my Delike (my ‘record’ package is ‘floating around’ for 70 days and counting, still not delivered) “Correios” (the Brazilian postal company) is a disaster all year round, Christmas being the worst time: they basically stall everything, overloaded. :-/

That's crazy, but I guess to be expected at Christmas time. One of the benefits of living in a communist country like China is that there's not really any Christmas rush with the post haha. Chinese New Year, however, is another story....

Hope your pen comes soon!

Just listed some of the pens Im waiting for into another forum, will not do the same here. too much to my shame (It clearly show how out of control that fountain pen obsession became).

Stopped public counting of how many pens I have and Im waiting for but my spreadsheet is almost up to date.

Thankfully the spot is wearing away....crisis averted! From now on I'm sticking to my policy of using BSB in only in a designated Preppy. If only Preppies came with Broad or 1.1 nibs!

I hear you....this morning when I was singing the praises of the amazing pen I got myself for Christmas (vintage Pelikan 400 tortoise with flexible BB nib), my wife had a deeply concerned look on her face and was questioning my sanity.

Now that my pen collection is just a couple pens away from hitting the three-digit mark, maybe this is getting out of hand...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
