I managed to repair it after the leaks (gasket and grease), but this morning the cap perfectly separated from the metal ferrule. Totally clean, no cracking, looks like it had the glue simply let go. Has anyone tried simple superglue to hold this? I don't care how it looks, I just want it to work.

Well, I'm getting a new cap sent. I'm also going to try and repair the cap that I have.

Did the superglue ever work?

I have found some success with superglue for very limited applications.

Many people much wiser than me advised me NEVER to use superglue on a pen.

Did the superglue ever work?

Nope. I ended up getting a new barrel. At this point the only things original on the whole pen are the feed and the plunger mechanism.

Feed tube and section twice, cap once, barrel. New nib- hated the F I got, swapped in a Goulet 1.1 stub. It's Gimli's Grandfather's Pen.
