What Kind Nib For Replacement. Only 14K On Nib. 1920S I Think.

I purchased a Keystone BCHR ring top pen. The nib is only marked 14 kt inside of a "shield". Heart shaped breather hole, which is up side down when reading nib. That is to say, nib pointing up. Heart is upside down. Need new nib. I don't know what this one is. Can some one help me.

Why do you need a new nib....nibs can be repaired....of course that is expensive.

Is the nib a Wet Noodle?

Then it might well be worth being repaired.

 

Is the nib a pretzel? Such have been repaired.

Nibmeister......nib master.....there are a few that can do wonders. Cracked nibs welded.

 

A good clear picture could help.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

 

 

The cheapest lessons are from those who learned expensive lessons. Ignorance is best for learning expensive lessons.

The marking indicates a good-quality nib, and the shape of the breather hole suggests that it's old.

If you don't like the way it writes, Warranted nibs are plentiful - they were the go-to replacement nibs - but anything that's the right size should work.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
