Thoughts On Identity Of Parker 51 Demi

I have a latest eBay acquisition which I'm very, very pleased with, but a little unsure of the exact identification.

Given it's a Parker and marked Made in England on both the cap and the aerometric converter, it should be easy to identify, but I haven't found a picture of an identical one anywhere. Looked at Parker APIS site, Parker 51.com and searched several forums.
Pretty sure it's either a Parker 51 (or maybe a 61)?
My instinct is that it's a Parker 51 Demi Insignia - it has the 51 clutch ring and no arrow on the section, but I'm guessing a later model as it has the jewel on the end of the body rather than the more usual rounded end.
Any thoughts or links to pictures would be very much appreciated.
Edited to add that I've just been told it's probably a Parker 17 Lady Insignia. Still very happy with it.
It was just advertised as a Parker Lady pen and the photos weren't clear as to whether it had several dents in the body:

Well, I took a risk and put a bid via a sniper site. It finished at less than I expected.
It arrived this morning and I was very pleasantly surprised. I've given it a clean and polish and have to say I'm very happy with the results....

Finally, shown with a standard Parker 51 for size comparison:

This is a Parker Lady Insignia, from the Parker 17 family.

Not listed on parkerpens net.

Parker 17 Lady is quite easy to find the lady insignia much more unusual, I gave one away a few years ago as a PIF because it was too small to use, the length of the pen slid past that piece of flesh at the base of my thumb - I am sure it has a proper name.

Enjoy the pen, they usually have a deightful nib.

Edit, sorry just read your comment in blue, telling you stuff you already know!

I think the flesh between the thumb and forefinger is usually called the web.

For love of it. And yet not waste time either.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
