I am interested in your pen group. I stopped by the Corner Brewery yesterday at 2:10 PM. I did not see any signs of the A2P2 group meeting. I then asked both the bartender and a waiter where you met up and neither one knew of the group. I saw a sign for the UCON Game group to the right of the entry door. How does a new person find A2P2 at the Corner Brewery?

Sorry we missed you. There were 10 of us there. On the left when you walked in - near the corner. No sign. Just lots of pens, ink, and paper scattered about the two tables.

Hello there!

I hope this is not offensive to post here but I wanted to extend an invitation to all A2P2 members in case you are interested in a meet-up in Detroit!

Hi Everyone!

Time is flying and the date for our first Detroit Pen Meet-up is fast approaching! This Friday, October 20th, we will meet at PenzDetroiT ( 333 Fort Street ) between 6-7pm. The shop is staying open late for this event. Alex has some new items as well as a stunning collection of Estate Pens, some new in box! From there... we will possibly make our way to the DIA if anyone is interested. Please forward this information to any friends that may be like minded as this is our first gathering and I am hoping it will be a monthly event!! It would be great if we could have an approximate idea of how many people will be attending so if you are able to RSVP here it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks you,

Nicole Dube

  • 2 weeks later...

Is ABC the usual place, now? When will the next one be?

Not sure I can make this one due to my return flight from Germany.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
