Is This A Sheaffer Desk Base?

Just picked up this desk set on a lark and was wondering whether the base was made by Sheaffer. I suspect not, but desk sets take me out of my depth. Among other red flags, the pen appears to be a Balance with GPT but the accents on the base and thinner ring on the trumpet are chrome:

No it is not a Sheaffer base. Nice deco look though, I can't suggest a manufacturer.

Thanks so much for the input, Roger. Was hoping you might chime in. I'd been searching your old desk set threads for insight, but all the photos are gone. When might we expect that long awaited Sheaffer book from you, hey? About time we had one that rivals the volumes on the other Big Four manufacturers. It's gotta come from you or Kirchheimer one, I reckon!
