Mont Blanc Repair

I seek some advice.

I submitted my Mont Blanc Starwalker (Midnight Black) fountain pen for repair though a Mont Blanc authorised outlet in Nottingham. There was an issue with the cap. The outlet insisted that the whole pen would have to be returned which I reluctantly agreed to. I collected my pen on Monday past and I instantly knew this was not my pen but a replacement. My pen had scratches caused by general wear, no scratches present, it was returned with a medium nib and not my fine. I had a new blue cartridge and a part used black that had leaked into the barrel. I was told this was not possible. I accepted the pen. I compared the serial number and it does not match my original warranty documentation so I know this now not to be my pen. I have been in contact with Mont Blanc and they are investigating, after I submitted copies of my warranty documents and a photograph of the serial number of my replacement pen. I am being unreasonable expecting my original pen to be returned, is this standard Mont Blanc practice and where do I stand in having my nib exchanged back to fine?

ti is not normal practice. They put your specific serial number in the system when creating the work order and quote (I assume you have a copy of this paperwork) so they would not wswitch the serial number. They should also not have switched the nib. the final repiar order should say exactly what they did. If it does not list a replacement of the nib or other parts you know were changed, it sounds like they just sent you the wrong pen.

 

I would think with patience this will be sorted out.

Just wondering if you found out anything more about your Mont Blanc issues and whether the outlet had returned your pen intact?

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
