Week #39 / 24 Sep: Undiluted Love - 2017 Weekly Ink Project

This week, use the least saturated ink in your collection.

As usual, don't forget to share with us your choice of ink, your writing, drawing, doodling or anything with the ink in this thread. You can take a photo, make a scan, or even better, write letters and CRV reviews (what is a CRV?) and mail them to the many ink pals here. You are welcome to check back on this thread even when we've gone past this week.

Click here to read more about this community project. Links to the two previous links can be found there too.

Next week: Arigato, Ishimaru

Reminds me of the water in the laundry sink after I have washed my dog.

Totally with you on this. Unusable for me as a writing ink . . . but WONDERFUL to wash over sketched lines with :happyberet:

"meh"!? Blasphemy! ;) (I love that color, including its washed-out-ness.)

I no longer own Fuyu Syogun otherwise I'd have added it here.

I do like desaturated inks. I find them easier on my eyes B) but they must leave some kind of legible line behind from a fine nib.

For that reason, I really like Platinum's no nonsense Blue Black and will add a bottle to the drawer when my cartridges run out.

Er, nice blank page, @Tas. Did you draw those two little circles or are they holes punched into the paper?

Drew the whole page, holes 'n'all.

A slight homage to Agnes Martin's "Rose" 1966 - I will never forget the look of utter disbelief on my entire family's faces when they stood in front of it in the Peggy Guggenheim Musem, Venice. :yikes:

I had an art professor who painted a 3" white border around a spot on the concrete floor where there were a bunch of paint stains and smears. And then signed and dated it on the border.

For all I know, that's still there in the classroom/studio.... Although I can't guarantee about the signature, since I'm pretty sure he used a ballpoint pen.... :lticaptd:

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I took photos of a performance of that piece at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance - proper bonkers. Loved it.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
