Montblanc M Problem

I bought Montblanc M fountain pen. I have a problem with fitting spare ink cartridge in the barrel. If I put the spare Montblanc ink cartridge in the pen I have to use some force when I screw back the barrel for last 2-3 millimetres. Is it possible that retailer accidentally put rollerball barrel on the fountain pen or is this normal? I had similar problem with diplomat Excellence recently and it was the wrong barrel.

Couple of obvious points, first: (I'm sure you've already checked). Are you sure there's nothing in the barrel, blocking the cartridge? Are you putting the scond cartridge in upside down (so the thin end is to the tip of the barrel)?

 

Not got an M pen, yet - so have to ask: Are you sure that two carts can fit in there, with that flat section on the barrel?

 

Not sure if there's a difference between the FP and RB barrels - but, if you're in London, you could pop into one of the boutiques with your pen and get a second opinion. The staff tend to be helpful with such issues.
