Red-Yellow/gold-Colored Ink - Recommendation Please

mke

Recommended Posts

I am looking for an ink which is yellow/gold with a touch red.

At the same time, it should be of high covering power. It should be easy to read on white paper.

Can anybody recommend me one? Yuu-yake from Pilot?

If there is, can you recommend an ink site on the web?

Thank you!!

Check out the writing samples in the Inky TOD for both Orange and yellow. Should help. The o ne for Orange is about 3 pages back on my phone

Too many nice colors, I probably start with the Pilot Yuu-Yake or Sailor's Gentle Ink Kin-Mokusei - the local colors.

Thanks anyway.

One of my favourites, Taisanji Yellow. Not too hard to find. It's a more muted color. If a sharper color is needed, +1 to Kin Mokusei/Apricot.

The Taisanji Yellow review below also has an extensive comparison with other similarly coloured ink. Worth a look.

+1 for this. T. Yellow is one of my favorites.

I should not look at comparisons as shown in the link. After such a look, I want not one but five more ink.

I couldn't decide looking at writing samples - so I bought both - with some other colors.

But this Kobe ink certainly entered my wishlist at a high position.

That would have been my recommendation. And the links are below.

Rohrer and Klingner Helianthis might be good.

I love R&K Helianthis and if it isn't perfect add drop of pink.

Hi all,

Am I missing something,... ...but to me, it seems like Noodlers Apache Sunset would be tailor-made for mke's color request?

Be well all. :)

Apache Sunset and Kin-Mokusei are nearly identical in my experience, with the latter leaning a little away from red compared to Apache Sunset.

Don't forget to look at the orange thread that is listed in my signature link. We have hundreds of inks sorted by color.

You're making me blush! But then, I just noticed that I did not cross the T in autumn, so my blushing is partly due to shame...

P.S.: Are you ready for more inks to keep/share? Or should I wait for a less hectic moment?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
