Need Help Looking For Eye Dropper Rollerball Pen.

I uses fountain pen on daily, but I need to deal with carbon paper from time to time, (goes to bank, sign delivery, invoice and stuff)... not to mention, when someone ask to borrow a pen..

So I need a refillable rollerball... something that can take advantages on my fountain pen ink..

However I am unable to find any good one, the only refillable rollerball I know is J Herbin Rollerball which uses a converter, something that I really dislike and Noodler's Konrad rollerball version, which is a piston filler..

However I base on a video that I found, converter or piston filler doesnt seems to work properly with rollerball most likely because the ink is suck from the rollerball which is a really small opening, which causes alot of resistance, as result, you get more air than ink..

So i decide to go with eyedropper... the only one that I know is Platinum Preppy Rollerball that is mention by Brian Goulet, but I am unable to find it in gouletpen.com.. (or ebay, or even google)

So do anyone else know any economic eyedropper rollerball? preferably a demonstrator..

Thanks.

I'm not really sure if there are any eye dropper rollerball pens out there as such. Maybe someone else here can speak to that. The platinum preppy rollerballs I think were something that Nathan included with the 4.5 oz bottles of Noodler's ink at one time. I don't think you can buy them separate.

That being said I have two Konrad rollerballs and have been using them for almost 6 months on a regular basis. I don't have any problem getting a full fill on either of them, and they are good pens for what they are.

  • 2 years later...

Noodler’s is including free with a bottle of Roller Eel ink a dropper-fill rollerball pen plus extra ball tips.

Also, there is an interesting part in that video where Nathan refills an old Schmidt(??) style refill (starting around the 15:00 mark). I had never really seen that before. Not sure how much ink that would hold, and seems like it would be a pain to always refill. But for those who only need to sign a few forms or checks here and there are really want to use fountain pen ink, it might work.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
