Robert Oster Bronze

Robert Oster is new player in fountain pen ink market. He operates through worldwide network of wholesalers. The inks are sold in 50 ml PET bottles with a tightly secure twist cap. I don't know who makes the inks for the shop, but the colors look interesting and fresh. At the moment Robert Oster inks are available in billion colors - I lost track how many.

Sample of Bronze was sent to me by Akszugor. I must admit I enjoy the color because of it's complexity. The ink has very good flow and feels wet. As most RO inks it lacks lubrication. All in all I enjoy this one.

You do great ink reviews, thank you. Robert Oster has really invigorated my interest in inks. I even like their bottles as they store efficiently, are quite deep and because they're plastic I can put them all in a box and it doesn't weigh a ton.

 

If I was to criticize the brand at all it is because some of their colors seem so closely related that I consider them redundant. For example: "Blue Water Ice" and "Bondi Blue". I wish I'd not purchased one of them so I could buy another unrelated color instead. So it goes.

 

That said, I love the brand overall and in fact I'm currently awaiting delivery of the beautiful "Cafe Crema".

 

Thanks again for the review ...looks like I may have to add this "Bronze" to my wishlist.

I like the green ring around the ink drop. I can't tell if the same green shows up in the writing but if it did I'd buy a bottle.

I very much thank you for another excellent review of one of my favorite "murky" inks. I agree that there are similarities among many inks, both among the Osters & between this ink & other makers, but the subtle differences make me happy to have use of them.

Thank you for the always informative review, but because of it I am going to have to add yet another, as Barkingpig calls it, "murky ink" to my collection. I prefer the more refined term "pond scum".

Oooh, interesting color. I might get a sample of this. I expected more of a golden color from the name, like polished bronze, but this is more of an oxidized/aged bronze with the green creeping into it. Makes me think of a bronze doorknob. Very cool!

By lubrication, are you referring to inks that specifically claim to be lubricated? I'm only asking because inks that explicitly claim to be lubricated are relatively few, no? Noodler's has their "Eel" series for example.

I'm not particular whether they claim it or just do it. For example, DeAtramentis Plum is as juicy in behavior as the fruit it's named after.
