Having been the beneficiary of a PIF, I accept GOODPENS challenge and offer this translucent (nearly opaque) blue demonstrator Ahab. I've just never warmed to this pen and hope the next recipient has better luck than me. The winner of the pen will be whoever submits the closest guess to the total number of hits by both teams over the three game series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs this weekend. In the unlikely event of a tie, the first entry prevails. US postage paid. Entries will be accepted until game time - 1:20 p.m. CDT, Friday, 9/15

Woah. Cool challenge! Can the consolation prize be an Italian beef sandwich? Or some Pequad's? I'm marrying into a Chi-town family although we live in NC. We have to make the trip every few years. Go Cubs!!!! (An entry will be posted after my partner gets back to me. He'd be so miffed if I left him out. ;)

PLEASE NOTE CHANGED TERMS!!

 

I hope the underwhelming lack of interest (as I write this, there have been zero entries!) is due mainly to many people not having seen the post. To make sure there are as many as possible given a chance, I'm changing the terms of the contest slightly - instead of the total number of hits over the course of the three game series in Chicago this weekend, it will now be the total number of hits from the Cubs vs. Cards series in St. Louis running from 9/25 - 9/28 with entries accepted until 7:00 p.m. CDT, Mon. 9/25/17

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off.
