Hi folks,

We have just heard from lovely Diamine people that they are working day and night on 10 new Shimmer inks :yikes:

Which Diamine colours would you like to see in Shimmering form?

Mishka

ps: I am still rooting for Soft Mint with silver/gold/rainbow B)

Hi Mishka, Diamine, et al,

I'm not really one for glitter inks, but if Diamine could replicate Cadillac's Autumn Maple Firemist,... I'd be a loyal customer for it. ;)

I know lots of people who highly esteem these inks but I am not one of them. Diamine has so good and beautiful conventional ink! For me it is enough that ink produces a nice colour, complex sheen and an interesting shading. Glitter is not an option for me - although I love Rouge hématite and Bleu océan, but I would love them more without glitter... At the end it is a matter of taste! ... But, as I love to be surprised, maybe Diamine will surprise me with an ink with glitter which I will not be able to resist...?

I agree with the Soft Mint suggestion, and maybe Sargasso Sea.

Hi Misfit,

You know, now that you mention it... I do enjoy Vert Reseda... do you how it compares to Soft Mint? It seems like they're pretty close. A metallic version of Soft Mint may be sharp at that. :)

Diamine is obviously finding a profitable and unique line of inks in their glitter line, that maybe is getting harder to grow in their 100+ varieties of conventional ink that they sell currently. Though they are still adding to their 150th Anniversary inks, which are pretty darn good as far as conventional inks these days, really decent behavior on a variety of paper in my experience. If people want the glitter, than they shall be glittered it appears!!

I find them to be fun!

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! Please PM me!For Sale: TBA

Okay, I confess. I love shimmery and glittery ink.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I received a message about these inks yesterday. Sadly, I can't try them out until I'm back in the UK. Even though this has been an adventure holiday with Irma, I still never look forward to going home.

My samples arrived this morning and I'll try to get something tested as soon as I can. They look pretty nice though.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China. With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters. Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed. And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments.. I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
